At the construction site of the 30,000-ton-per-year production line for graphite materials used in new energy applications, located in the Dongxing Economic Development Zone in Neijiang, the project is now in its final sprint phase.
At the construction site, workers wear safety helmets and harnesses. Some are diligently engaged in exterior wall decoration work on scaffolding, while others are busily moving construction materials on the ground—everyone is working with great enthusiasm. “We’re currently carrying out exterior wall decoration work on the auxiliary buildings of Building No. 1 and Building No. 2, as well as the exterior walls of the guardhouse in Building No. 6, and we plan to complete the project this month,” said Guo Jia, the construction supervisor.
“The processing plant for new special graphite materials and the R&D and manufacturing facility for silicon-carbon anode materials have been basically completed. Equipment is being gradually delivered and installed, and we plan to start production in October of this year,” said Liao Xu, the project manager. The project has added a new production line for silicon-carbon anode materials, covering three major areas: the production of isostatically pressed graphite products, the production of silicon-carbon anode materials via resin-based CVD vapor deposition, and the R&D and manufacturing of specialized equipment. The successful implementation of this project not only marks a significant breakthrough for Neijiang in the field of new energy and new materials, but also represents a crucial step toward optimizing Neijiang’s industrial structure and achieving high-quality development. It will become a flagship initiative for Neijiang’s development of new, high-quality productivity.
For such an important project, how can we accelerate its construction and ensure it is completed and put into operation as soon as possible to deliver benefits? “The company is adopting a ‘responsibility-based system plus checklist approach,’ clearly defining time milestones, using visualized management, and working backward from the deadline to significantly speed up project construction and ensure that equipment installation and formal production are completed at an early date,” said Cao Xuefeng, General Manager of Zhengwang New Materials (Neijiang) Co., Ltd. Meanwhile, Dongxing District has also established a special task force dedicated to this project, providing “nanny-style” services, holding regular project progress meetings, and actively promoting the project’s swift implementation, rapid commissioning, and early realization of desired outcomes.
Once the entire project is completed and put into operation, its annual output value could reach 1 billion yuan and it will create approximately 150 jobs.
It is worth noting that from January to July this year, the total industrial output value of the new materials industry in Dongxing District—measured by enterprises above designated size—reached 1.47 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 29.2%. The share of this sector in the district’s overall industrial output rose by 2 percentage points compared to the same period last year, making it a key driver of high-quality economic development in the region.
