On October 21, mainstream prices in China’s prebaked anode market remained stable. Today, the price of petroleum coke, a key raw material, continued to rise strongly. Meanwhile, the price of coal pitch has also been steadily increasing, driven by both supply and demand, further pushing up the cost of prebaked anodes. On the production front, the industry as a whole maintains stable operating rates and enjoys good supply levels. However, with the heating season approaching, many regions have introduced relevant policies, and some areas have even begun imposing emission restrictions in response to worsening air quality. Additionally, Qinyang Carbon and Guizhou Luxing Carbon have reached a cooperation agreement, and their 300,000-ton prebaked anode project has been publicly announced and is awaiting construction. The downstream electrolytic aluminum market continues to perform well; as of today, prices have risen above the 15,000 yuan/ton mark, reaching 15,060 yuan/ton—a level that has boosted industry confidence and stimulated demand for prebaked anodes. Baichuan will continue to closely monitor the impact of relevant policies on the market. As of October 21, transaction prices in China’s prebaked anode market ranged from 3,210 to 3,590 yuan/ton (tax-inclusive ex-factory price at the low end) to 3,380 to 3,680 yuan/ton (at the high end). In Qinghai, procurement prices were around 3,460 yuan/ton, while in Xinjiang they were approximately 3,760 yuan/ton.
