On February 23, 2023, the "Carbon New Materials Industry Chain Summit Forum and 2023 Symposium on Green Development of Enterprises for Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality," hosted by China Carbon Net, officially kicked off with great fanfare at the Dong Hyatt Hotel in Tianjin! The conference was guided by the China Carbon Industry Association and organized by China Carbon Net. It covered more than a dozen topics spanning the entire carbon new materials industry chain, including negative electrode materials, petroleum coke, graphite electrodes, needle coke, natural graphite, synthetic graphite, carbon materials for steelmaking, carbon materials for aluminum production, pre-baked anodes, cathode carbon blocks, coal tar pitch, electrode paste, graphite crucibles, calcined coal, equipment for negative electrode materials, graphitization equipment, environmental protection equipment, screening equipment, flue gas and tail gas treatment equipment, dust removal equipment, refractory materials, and carbon neutrality. Over 400 participants—including Sun Qing, Honorary Chairman of the China Carbon Industry Association, as well as leading experts, industry pioneers, flagship enterprises, and key clients—gathered to jointly discuss the development of the carbon new materials industry, explore new technologies, emerging trends, and fresh opportunities in China’s carbon industry under the current new circumstances, provide practical guidance and technical exchanges for the growth of the carbon new materials sector, and enable enterprises within the industry to engage in extensive exchanges, deep communication, mutual learning, and collaborative development.

At the outset of the conference, Lü Yue, Chairman of China Carbon Net, delivered the opening remarks. On behalf of China Carbon Net, he extended congratulations on the convening of the conference and welcomed the arrival of all participating guests. Lü Yue noted that since 2022, from a market perspective, the negative electrode material sector has attracted widespread attention, drawing intense competition among various players, sustaining high levels of enthusiasm and engagement, and intensifying competition within the industry. Meanwhile, given the evolving international situation and changes in both domestic and global pandemic dynamics, trends in 2023 across related sectors—including petroleum coke, graphite electrodes, needle coke, pre-baked anodes, cathode carbon blocks, graphite crucibles, graphitization, as well as environmental protection, energy conservation, and consumption reduction—have become key topics of concern. The favorable impact of carbon trading models on the industry and the implications of carbon neutrality legislation for enterprises are also areas of great interest. Throughout this conference, participants will engage in discussions and exchanges to identify targeted, practical solutions and breakthrough pathways addressing these critical issues.

As the market evolves and industries develop, the content and formats of the summit forums are also continuously innovating and advancing. China Carbon Net has invited leading experts and industry giants from the carbon industry, as well as representatives from top-tier enterprises, to gather together and focus on their respective specialized fields. Together, they will explore, from multiple perspectives, the new transformations and challenges facing the carbon新材料 industrial chain in the post-pandemic era. The guiding principle of this year’s summit forum is to promote joint development within the carbon industry, focus on the common interests of the industrial chain, and achieve harmonious and win-win outcomes for all participants.

In addition to the strong support from the China Carbon Industry Association and the Beijing Green Exchange, this summit has also received enthusiastic responses and active participation from companies across the carbon新材料, negative electrode materials, and upstream and downstream industries. As a result, this summit has become an ideal platform for industrial exchange and cooperation, providing a venue for specialized suppliers, distributors, and buyers in the carbon industry’s upstream and downstream sectors to showcase their products, engage in exchanges, and collaborate with one another. At the exhibition, more than 30 companies—including those specializing in negative electrode material equipment, graphitization equipment, environmental protection equipment, screening equipment, flue gas and tail gas treatment equipment, dust removal equipment, refractory materials, technical services, and other supporting services—displayed their products through booths, display panels, and informational materials. Some companies even brought along new technologies, advanced equipment, and innovative products. Many enterprises found new customers, identified ideal partners, and engaged in face-to-face discussions with the industry’s top executives and distinguished guests at this summit. This clearly demonstrates that upstream enterprises in the carbon industry have made significant efforts and achieved notable results in enhancing product technological content, promoting structural adjustments within the industry, and accelerating industrial upgrading.
